Rooted In Devotion, Not Dogma

I’ve always been drawn to the sacred, but not always to the structures that claim to contain it.

Over the years, I’ve found myself sitting with the stillness of Buddhist breath, crying to Christ in quiet prayer, and singing the Hanuman Chalisa with my whole heart. Through it all, I’ve come to realize that I don’t follow one religion. I follow love.

I find myself at home in the presence of Hanuman and Christ alike.

I’m not attempting  to mix beliefs or blend traditions for novelty, but I find myself drawing from different traditions because the thread of love weaving through each of them opens my heart. I feel each of them living in the deepest parts of my soul speaking the same language under different names.

To me, spirituality isn’t about choosing sides or “getting it right.” It’s about connection. It’s about the way your breath slows when you light a candle with intention. The way your heart softens when you chant a name that feels familiar, even if you don’t know why. It’s about the presence that shows up in quiet moments, when you stop searching and start listening.

That’s why I chant. That’s why I create. That’s why I teach.

Not to push a path, but to offer space. An open heart space full of compassion where love is the guide and devotion is the practice.

A truth I’ve come to realize is dogma can create walls, but pure devotion to love can  bridge the gaps between us.

You don’t have to belong to one tradition to feel held.

You don’t have to explain why a certain name, prayer, or song opens you up.

You don’t have to choose between rigid reverence or curious exploration.

You can be rooted in love, and expansive in spirit. Free to be open and experience the infinite.

Whether you feel most at home in a church, a temple, the forest, or on your yoga mat there is room for you here. This isn’t about having the right beliefs. It’s about remembering the light that lives in your chest and learning how to trust it again.

This is space is about breath, presence, and a devotion that surpasses all structures of the mind.

With love,

Alexis
